PROOF OF OUR LOVE

We first met through Facebook. At that time, I; Ol Chanrasmey, was an online food seller and she; Tuy Vanchakrya, commented on my product post. Since then we often chatted with each other and after two months, we felt that we got along so well and finally a love relationship was established. From the beginning of our relationship, she confessed that she is a lesbian. She confessed her love and went to propose to me from my mother. She said she was serious with me and wanted to have a genuine family together and that it was not just for fun. However, my relatives did not accept our love relationship! My elder siblings said, “no one among my siblings is an LGBTIQ person. There is no future for LGBTIQ people who live together.” But for me, the future means living with someone we love, taking care of one another, and having a good career. That was my definition of the future. Not long after that, our relationship reached another level as we decided to sign a Declaration of family relationship (DoFR) in 2020. DoFR makes both of us feel happier, warm, and confident in our life because we have support from local authorities and those around us. In addition, my siblings have changed their minds as well. Although they rejected us in the past, they are now open to accept our truth because there is support from authorities and we even have evidence to prove our strong bond of love.
