It’s Khmer New Year season, and the COVID-19 outbreak situation does not allow us to gather but we can go back to the old memories to relive the happy moment. RoCK recalls last month traditional ceremony before the outbreak, which our members initiated. It’s called “Bon Phka Samaki”, that people raised fund to contribute to Buddhism and help some elders, especially their challenging health and livelihood. We did the parade for 3km to the pagoda. It’s a bit tiring but fun because we danced to our heart content.
“We, the LGBTIQ community, from near and far, organized this Bon Phka Brak Samaki, we joint hands and helped strengthen Buddhism. Besides, we could gather, meet our LGBTIQ friends in a lively atmosphere.”
