CAMBODIA UNIVERSAL PERIODIC REVIEW (UPR) 4TH CYCLE ON SOGIESC RIGHTS AND SRHR

07 Feb 2024 FACTSHEET 4th cycle UPR SOGIESC rights and SRHR Cambodia [Final-GVA]On 21^st  December 2023, Rainbow Community Kampuchea (RoCK) along with civil society partners published the Joint Submission on sexual orientation, gender identity and expression and sex characteristics (SOGIESC) rights and sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for the 4^th Universal Periodic Review (UPR) cycle of Cambodia.

The civil society Joint Submission on SOGIESC rights and SRHR for the 4^th UPR cycle of Cambodia presents an assessment of the progress made by Cambodia towards the implementation of the nine recommendations on SOGIESC rights and SRHR accepted by Cambodia at 3^rd UPR cycle, recognizing the positive steps taken toward progressing implementation as well as the remaining implementation gaps. It also suggests concrete priority recommendations to raise in the 4^th UPR cycle of Cambodia to ensure that Cambodia effectively protects SOGIESC rights, SRHR and the equal rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT+) persons across Cambodia, in line with achieving the Sustainable Development Goals principle of “leaving no one behind”.
