Chan Kunthea is a feminist popular educator from Cambodia, and currently a freelancer. Kunthea has a vast experience in coordinating with local groups/NGOs/partners in the Southeast Asian region to empower and promote women’s leadership in the social, political and economic spheres. She also has more than 10 years of experience working on women’s rights in Cambodia under her belt as well as at the regional and international levels. Kunthea is the co-founder of the young women’s alliance CYWEN (Cambodian Young Women’s Empowerment Network)—a group established in 2010 that focuses on empowering young Cambodian women to demand rights. From 2004 to 2012, Kunthea served as the Program Coordinator of the Committee to Promote Women in Politics (CPWP) and the staff of SILAKA.
